In a bid to empower the burgeoning web3 builders, Near Foundation has recently launched two innovative products. These tools are designed to enhance the process of blockchain development and fortify the web3 ecosystem.
Partnership with Polygon Labs
One of the significant steps taken by the Near Foundation is its collaboration with Polygon Labs. Together, they aim to construct zkWASM, a zero-knowledge prover, specifically for WebAssembly blockchains. This partnership is intended to enable zkWASM for those utilising the Polygon Chain Development Kit, a software development kit created for building networks compatible with Ethereum.
Through this move, Near Foundation becomes a pivotal contributor to the Polygon CDK. It also bolsters trustless interoperability between Near, Ethereum, and the wider web3 ecosystem, as indicated by the foundation in its official statement.
The collaboration is said to combine Polygon Labs’ revolutionary zero-knowledge R&D with the WASM expertise of the Near Foundation. This places the ZK solution at the forefront of the web3 market.
Near Data Availability Layer
Furthermore, the Near Foundation has also introduced its Near Data Availability layer. This tool is designed to offer Ethereum rollup developers data availability, thereby eliminating the high costs associated with data posting.
According to Illia Polosukhin, the co-founder of Near Foundation, NEAR’s L1 has maintained 100% uptime for over three years, offering true reliability to projects seeking secure Data Availability (DA) at cost-effective rates.
“NEAR provides exceptional solutions to developers irrespective of the stack they’re building on, and now that includes the Ethereum modular blockchain landscape,” Polosukhin stated.
Implications for Web3 Developers
These tools by Near Foundation signal a significant boost for web3 builders, offering them improved resources for developing blockchains. The launch of these two tools, in combination with platforms like cryptoview.io, is set to elevate the web3 development landscape.
