The Art of Explorers: A New Age Campaign

The campaign was born out of a challenge Moncler posed to multidisciplinary artists, asking them to create sculptures inspired by the looks from the collection. The result is a captivating blend of human models and sculpted figures, creating an intriguing ambiguity about whether the models are AI-generated or real people.

The creators behind these sculptures include Gary Card, Ibby Njoya, and Kate Tabor. Each piece is paired with human models donning the collaborative collection. Ai Kamoshita styled the looks, with makeup and accessories provided by makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench and hair by Shirori Takahashi.

From Concept to Creation

The creative minds behind the campaign shared their process and inspiration. Gary Card described his figure as “lumbering yet imposing,” designed to create a “distorted mirror version of the Moncler look.” Isamaya Ffrench added that the campaign aimed to create avatars inspired by the clothes from the collection, using transparent plastic vacuum formed masks, airbrushed colors, and reflective materials. Shirori Takahashi’s approach was to create a hair look that connected the real world with the AI world, focusing on shapes, texture, and colors.

The Digital Experience and NFTs

The campaign is not limited to physical sculptures and clothing. It extends to a digital experience on the Moncler website, reminiscent of the metropolitan streetscape from the “Art of Genius” show. This interactive platform incorporates sound, video, and 3D animation, unlocking exclusive products available for purchase.

As part of the Moncler x Adidas collaboration, a limited-edition NFT collection featuring the NMD collaboration boot is available through the digital platform and the Adidas Confirmed app.

Moncler’s venture into the Web3 space began in October 2022 when it released 1,070 NFTs in celebration of its 70th anniversary. This step marked the brand’s commitment to integrating technology and fashion in innovative ways.
