Proposed Enhancements and Additions
The Etherscan team member outlined several beneficial features that could be developed as part of this initiative. Notably, Etherscan could enhance the existing support for ENS on Ethereum Layer 1 and extend it to Ethereum Layer 2 explorers. This extension could potentially include Optimism (OP), Arbitrum (ARB), Polygon (MATIC), Base, Linea, and Scroll.
The proposal also envisions broadening the current support for .eth names to include additional domains like .xyz and .art. There’s also a plan to support off-chain names using CCIP and integrate support for DNS-based names such as .com.

Harith shed light on Etherscan’s contributions to the ENS ecosystem since May 2017, which include support for ENS name forward resolution search, auctions list, address name tags, and various features introduced over the years. He emphasized that Etherscan maintains a transparent relationship with ENS DAO, negating any potential conflict of interest.
This commitment to transparency was demonstrated when the team received a donation of 46,296.3 ENS tokens from ENS in November 2021, amounting to $413,888.92.
